Teeth whitening · in-office & take-home

A brighter smile, without the over-the-counter sting

Professional whitening at a strength your enamel can handle — and shaped around your goals, your timeline, and any restorations you already have.

Two ways to brighten

In-office whitening

One visit, about 60–90 minutes. Professional-strength gel with your gums protected by a barrier. You leave the office noticeably brighter — great before a wedding, a graduation, or a milestone photo.

Take-home trays

Custom-fit trays you wear at home for about two weeks. Gentler on sensitive teeth and easy to touch up once or twice a year. Best for patients who want gradual, even results.

After your whitening

  • Skip darkly pigmented foods and drinks for the first 48 hours — coffee, red wine, tomato sauce, berries.
  • Use a soft toothbrush and a sensitive-formula toothpaste if your teeth feel tender.
  • Touch up at home every 6–12 months with the trays we provide.
  • Keep up with cleanings — a polished tooth holds its color much longer.

Common questions

Frequently asked

How is professional whitening different from store-bought kits?
Stronger, more even, and safer for your gums. Professional whitening uses higher-concentration gel applied with a proper barrier protecting your gums — and you get a custom-fit tray (not a one-size-fits-all strip). Results last longer too.
Does whitening hurt my teeth?
It can cause temporary sensitivity for a day or two, especially with the strongest treatments. We choose the gel strength based on your enamel and history. Most patients have only mild, short-lived sensitivity, and we have ways to manage it.
How long do results last?
Typically 1–2 years, depending on what you eat and drink. Coffee, red wine, tea, dark sodas, and tobacco all restain teeth over time. A quick at-home touch-up every 6–12 months keeps things bright.
Can I whiten if I have crowns or veneers?
The whitening gel only changes the color of your natural enamel — crowns and veneers stay the same shade. If you have visible restorations on your front teeth, we'll plan whitening around them so everything ends up matching.
Will it work on all stains?
Whitening works best on yellowed enamel and surface stains from food, drink, and tobacco. Deep gray staining from old tetracycline use or trauma may need veneers or bonding instead. We'll tell you upfront what to expect.
How long does it take?
In-office whitening is one 60–90 minute visit. Take-home trays usually deliver full results in 2 weeks of nightly wear. Some patients combine both for the fastest, longest-lasting result.
