Hill City pride

The Seven Hills, the James, the people

Lynchburg has more than one story. Our practice tries to honor all of them.

Where it started

The City of Seven Hills

Lynchburg got its nickname for a reason — College Hill, Daniel's Hill, Federal Hill, Diamond Hill, Garland Hill, Franklin Hill, and White Rock Hill, each with their own story, their own architecture, their own people. Brick row houses on Federal. The Bluffwalk and the canal in Lower Bluffwalk. Old City Cemetery on the slope down toward the river. Every hill tells you something different about the city.

When we picked the palette for this practice, we picked the brick red of the Federal and Victorian buildings that line those streets — because that's the Hill City you actually see when you drive through it.

The waterway

The James River, in our backyard

From Percival's Island to the riverwalk and the kayak put-ins downstream, the James shapes a lot of what makes Lynchburg Lynchburg. You can hear the rapids from parts of Riverside Park, you can see the Blue Ridge from the bluffs on a clear day, and you'll find half our patients out on it during the summer.

The students

A five-college town

Lynchburg has more colleges per capita than most cities its size, and we see undergrads, grad students, and professors from every one of them. Whether you're commuting in from your dorm or you teach a class, we'll work around your schedule.

The whole city

Dentistry for all of Lynchburg

Lynchburg is roughly a quarter Black, with deep roots in neighborhoods like Diamond Hill, Tinbridge Hill, and downtown. It's a working-class city, a hospital city, a college city, and a family city. We didn't want to build a practice that only pictured one of those Lynchburgs — we wanted one that worked for all of them.

That looks like fair pricing, in-network insurance with the three biggest plans in the area, a no-insurance membership through the Virginia Dental Club, in-house implants and root canals so you're not bouncing between offices, and a team that treats a high schooler from Heritage High the same way it treats a retired attorney from Boonsboro.

The wider region

Bedford, Amherst, Campbell & Appomattox

We see plenty of patients who drive in from out of the city limits. From Forest and Madison Heights to Rustburg, Bedford, and Appomattox, our schedule is set up to make a 20-minute drive in feel like a 20-minute drive worth taking.
